Connaught Park

Connaught Park, located at 11 Street and 14 Avenue SW is another green space that underwent major renovation in 2008. Despite a construction delay due to a lack of workers and thin-stretched resources, the park has now re-opened for public use. With a picnic and socializing theme, the newly re-designed park looks significantly different from the original. Connaught Park now features furniture, sculpture, new lighting, a brick plaza spreading out from a central feature, walkways and grass for lounging. The function of the park remains the same and is intended for passive use, rather than soccer matches or a pick up game of touch football. The upgrade to the park is part of a larger move to improve all Beltline parks, as directed by city council. |
