Bristol Manor

Bristol Manor
1020 Fourteenth Avenue SW

One of the grand old condominium ladies of Connaught, this 12-storey concrete-and-brick tower houses 44 spacious homes that all have a corner location, a wood-burning fireplace and an indoor assigned parking stall. There are large wrap-around balconies for suites on NE, NW and SW corners, while the SE suites have an east-facing balcony plus a smaller second one facing south, and a terrific projecting living room; my sun-lit favorites.Surprisingly, Bristol Manor was built in 1981 as a rental building and condo converted in 1992. It must have been a luxurious rental when new because the eighth floor offers a rec room with pool table, a gym and sauna, plus a large SW roof-top deck. These facilities and other common areas were renovated in 2007 or so, and the gym was stocked with new equipment. The building has two elevators, which is sure a nice standard when someone is moving in or out.All but one suite here are in the range of 1,200 square feet, have two full bathrooms and, like I said, they all have a corner setting. All parking is indoors heated common property over two levels. The basement also offers a large common storage area that accommodates bicycles. Exterior windows and doors at Bristol Manor are common property for maintenance and replacement.
