Astoria or Astoria on Tenth
Construction is hoped to resume in 2011 after Astoria was put on hold in 2008. Astoria on Tenth is to be a 33-storey mixed-use tower housing 229 suites, ground-floor retail space and two floors of condo office units, so some professionals could own an office and a home in the same building. As the photo shows, the tower is to have an art deco feel hinting of the Chrysler Building in New York.Suites will range from one-bedrooms of 592 to 796 square feet, and two-bedroom homes of 885 to 1,110 square feet. There will be a gym, a meeting space, and an atop-the-podium rooftop garden. Finishing standards will include stainless-steel appliances, granite kitchen countertops, wood cabinetry, and some hardwood flooring. All suites are to have a balcony with natural gas supply, and an in-suite laundry. There's indoor parking, of course, and lockers will be available to buy as a extra. Exterior doors and windows at Astoria will be common property for maintenance and replacement. The Condo Plan will be registered after the building's completion. I have marketing material and floor plans on file. The builder is Arcus Developments, but that could change by the time work resumes.
