Rundle Ruins Heritage In 1894, as the City of Calgary incorporated. $10,000 was allocated by the citzens to construct a new hospital. Calgary's first General Hospital building served the community until it's controversial demolition in 1973. Following a heated civic and provincial debate, a portion of the demolished building was incorporated into a park and dedicated, by Premier Peter Lougheed. 1974.
